Now that we have a transponder system on the way, time for proposals for race formats, stick with several short races...right now, a 1 minute race would yield a 5 lap race.
Do we want to stick with lap races or timed races, a few long races, several short races...
Personally I would go for a round consisting of three 2 minute races. and format the night the way we do now. Invert the field between races and run 2 minute races. The reason I say three is that we need to shorten the race night as we are struggling to get finished by 9:30, and maybe 5 races for the mains.
I do not like long races as you very quickly lose track of time while racing (I have done 5 minute races for 2 years in Moncton) and it no longer becomes a race of a known distance and you just drive like mad with no plan or strategy and you have no idea if the guy in front of you is ahead, behind, same lap, many laps behind...you just bully your way through until the computer tells you to stop and in the end, you rarely actually know where you finished. That does not feel like actual racing to me, more like just time-trials against the clock.
