Hey Everyone,
New to the site, been meaning to get out to try running that rental car but never mad it yet. I was wondering if there are any plans to race larger scale this summer? Just getting back into the hobby and picked up a t-maxx wondering if there are any nitro guys out there to get some tips from, got about 6 to 7 tanks through it but can't seem to get the mixture right.

It has not been discussed, it would take some work. Again, first we need enough people and a location and then to build a track.
Right now, it has not beed discussed and there does not seem to be a overwhelming desire to do outdoor during the summer months, but who knows. Personally, I am tied up with other activities in the summer and would likely not participate and I am one of the main driving forces in making this indoor racing happen, we just need someone to step up to the plate and try to make something happen. I will look into interest to see if there is any.
It seems that this forum is not regularly vistied by club members so it takes a while to get answers here.

I agree that it would take a fairly large commitment, Is there any members that just go out bashing for an afternoon. I came across a little spot down near seaside park west. looks like someone might have been using it for BMX bikes, never see anyone there, small track with several jumps. looking forward for the snow to clear to try it out.

I'd be up for racing my 1/10th scale once I convert it to a touring setup, but I can't imagine anyone else picking up a 1/10th car. I have no offroad vehicles, so that's not really an option for me. Well not at that time anyways.

a good question. My brother-in-law has a 1/10 nitro tamiya truck he runs in a pit. Maybe there is enough interest to get a weekly thing going in the summer. Also, look on the MRCR.ca site. Those guys have a summer offroad nitro series.
To answer your question about nitro tuning: give chris at pro-line hobbies a call. he seems to be good at tuning the motors. If you can't get him my brother-in-law knows a bit about it as well. From what I know about it you get the motor tuned pretty close and then you fine tune each time you run it. It isn't like a full size car where you tune it and it stays. how hot the motor is, how fresh the fuel is, how good the glow plug is, and lots of other stuff combine to make tuning a part of the nitro experience. Now the T-maxx is a larger bore motor and it is my understanding that a larger bore won't need as much tuning. Tuning is a thread all of its own.
nickd123 brings up another good point, some guys may want to run onroad TC on a parking lot. The thing about onroad on ashphalt that I worry about is grinding the chassis down to a nub. I'll make a couple of threads in the forum where members can post their interest in summer racing. thanks for your comments and questions.

I could be conviced of racing this summer. I do have and old Nitro 1/10 stadium truck but would be open to buying a new car as well.

I'm pretty sure i'm going to stick with electric for now, but I definitely wouldn't mind racing this summer. I'd rather stick with one for now and build my knowledge of them, since i'm still extremely new to it

Welcome to the group Bobby, right now things are a little slow on the summer side of racing and it seems that a lot of people have a lot of different offroad vehicles at the moment, but I am sure if enough people and interest get drummed up, something can happen. You should come out to one of a carpet races on a saturday night (race schedule is posted in the rules section of this forum), the club has a rental car that can be used for the night for just a few bucks to get your feet wet in R/C competition.
