Following Gregg's lead by posting my car setup.
Front End:
-SLIGHT toe in
-Front Springs=no white spacers, only the yellow cap beneath the E-clip
Rear End:
-One white spacer on each end of the axel just outside of the bushing
Rear Pod:
-100wt oil beneath damper plates
-no preload on the springs, just bring the collars into contact with the springs, but no tension
Differential:
-I polished both thrust washers with brasso. be sure to wipe off all polish residue. then reassemble with a drop of oil (I just use motor oil) on every 2nd ball.
-I lost the factory spring so I am using a RC18 dog-done spring, nut is tightened on all the way
Tire treatment:
-At the beginning of the week, clean the tires with alcohol and let sit for several hours (Sunday morning).
-Coat all 4 tires fully with liberal coat of baby oil (Sunday evening). Let sit as is all week.
-Re-coat tires on Saturday morning and let sit.
-at the track, coat tires with baby oil 5 minute before going on track an let sit.
-just before going on track, lightly wipe excess off tires (no not wring the tires out, you still want it soaked into the surface, just get the gobs off the surface)
-Go onto the track and pull off with a big burnout (it will leave a big gray, oily, foamy smear on the track). Run 2-3 laps, the car will be very slippery but after 2-3 laps, you will feel the car start to hook up.
-As soon as car gets grip, stop and wait for race to begin
-The car should handle great for entire duration of the 5 races as long as you stay off of the hardwood, if you do get on the hardwood, wipe tires off between races. Lick your finger and wipe off the tires
Driving:
-I start very conservative, getting onto the hardwood will greatly compromise the handling so in the first race or 2, I am extremely careful. By the time race 5 comes, I have nothing to lose, so I take more risks, but if you make a mistake in race 1, you are compromising all 5 races.
-I VERY RARELY get beyond 1/2 throttle
ESC Settings
Medium Punch Control (mixed with trigger finger discretion)
Low Timing
