SJRCRC Technical Regulations
Last Revised: October 21, 2024. Added Losi Mini Nascar class. Latest revisions underlined
General Guidelines (all classes)
G1. A body must be in place for all on track activities.
G2. Batteries must be securely mounted in the car and properly handled when out of the car.
G3. There will be no formal tech inspection, any concerns can be brought to the attention of the race organizer(s) and they will be looked into.
1/12 Losi Nascar Spec
Editor’s Note:
The spirit of the Losi Mini Nascar Spec class is to offer low cost spec motor racing and to give an opportunity for new racers to use RTR kits. We want to keep the speed of the cars low for close racing while allowing durability improvement parts to be added. Performance enhancing parts will not be allowed.
LN1. Motors - the RTR brushed motor must be used. It must remain unmodified. Recommended for racers to properly break in the motor before racing. Recommended for racers to use the option part heatsink.
LN2. Gearing - the RTR pinion and spur must be used.
LN3. Electronics - Open. Any brand esc, receiver, servo is permitted to allow the racer to use their existing radio. At this time the ESC is not seen to be performance enhancing.
LN4. Tires - only rubber tires made by Losi for the Losi Nascar. Traction compound is allowed. Glued front sidewalls is allowed.
LN5. Batteries - the RTR battery is preferred. Any battery that has the specification of the RTR battery (1400mAh / 30C) is allowed. Limit of 2 cell lipo. Max voltage per pack is 8.44 volt.
LN6. Body - the Losi nascar body is required. It may be painted to match the driver's livery. The body must be mounted at factory height and not lowered.
LN7. Shocks/Springs - the RTR shocks/springs must be used. Shock oil may be changed as it is a maintenance item.
LN8. Weight - the minimum weight is 945g with the car in race trim.
LN9. Ride Height - 5mm minimum ride height at lowest point of car/bumper/splitter.
LN10. Upgrades - no performance enhancing parts allowed. Allowable Losi Option parts(for durability): LOS-1929 Metal Axle & Hex set, LOS-1948 Spindle Set, LOS-1947 Rear Hubs, LOS-1910 aluminum horn, LOS-1906 aluminum steering bell crank, LOS-1920 aluminum motor heatsink
editors note: some option parts have been left off this list because although they may be durability parts we do not want a new racer to think they need to buy expensive
parts to be able to compete. The club will review the decision to add additional parts to the list in September 2025 before indoor racing season OR if durability becomes an issue.
LN11. No other modifications can be made to the car/chassis. The spirit of the class is for low cost RTR racing.
Losi Mini-B/T Open
Editor’s Note:
The spirit of the MiniB/T Open class is to offer low cost open motor racing and to give an opportunity for new racers to use their RTR kits but also allow veteran racers to customize the platform within limits. We want to keep the look of the Mini B/T platform offroad and not allow too much in the way of customizing the cars into onroad specific cars such as a purpose built onroad chassis, running onroad car bodies, or using onroad mini tires.
M1. Mini-B/T is run with the 1/18 Open until such time that the class has the numbers to run on its own.
M2. The vehicle is to remain open wheeled using a body made for a Mini-B/T, added bumpers are permitted.
M3. Upgrades to chassis parts to increase durability are permitted.
M4. Tires - are to be rubber tires made for the Mini-B/T. Tires for another model adapted for use on the Mini-B/T is not allowed.
M5. Batteries - Limit of 2 cell lipo. Max voltage per pack is 8.44 volt.
M6. Electronics - Open. Any brand esc, receiver, servo is permitted.
M7. Motors - Brushed or brushless but made for a small scale 1/16 vehicle. 540 motors adapted are not permitted.
1/12 Pancar Spec
Editor’s Note:
The intent of the class is to create an environment of close competition with a slower car to learn driving skills. 1/12 pancar is also offered as an option at many National level events for racers who want to practice and attend races at this level.
SP1. Tires - Open tire, foam or rubber. Low cost tires encouraged
SP2. Batteries - 4.22V charged 1S low-profile, short, ROAR-approved lithium technology batteries. No soft case Lipos.
SP3. Motor - Reedy Sonic 540-FT Competition Brushless Motor (Fixed Timing) (17.5T)

O3. Rigid “roll over” type antennas are not permitted.
O4. Tires can be rubber or foam. Sized appropriately for the model
O5. Limit of 2 cell lipo or 7 cell NiMh. Max voltage per pack is 8.4 volt.
